This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was purchased by the seller in 2006 and is refinished in light blue over black leather. Power is provided by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and the car is equipped with louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. The rear brakes, engine gaskets, and dashpad were replaced in 2023, and a Pertronix distributor and coil were added. This XKE coupe is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records, a tool roll, and a clean Washington state title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in light blue and was repainted under previous ownership. Exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, dual side mirrors, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by knock-off hubs and are mounted with 205/75 Dean Alpha tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The rotors and pads were replaced and the calipers were rebuilt in 2023 to repair overheating and fire damage, which the seller states was limited to the braking components.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. The dashpad was replaced in 2023. Interior appointments include an AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning. The seller states that the power switch does not work for the radio, the handbrake warning light has been disconnected, and the air conditioner only works intermittently.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The speedometer and the fuel level and oil pressure gauges were refurbished in 2014. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles, approximately 800 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in 2023 included the replacement of the engine gaskets and the installation of a Pertronix distributor and ignition coil.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
A tool roll and manufacturer’s literature are included in the sale.
